Sofie Versus The Darkness

My Toronto Arts Council funded poetry collection, “Sofie Versus The Darkness,” mobilizes autofictional surreal poetry to explore themes of trans identity, madeness, and building relationships in a world that is falling apart. It is currently under review.

GLITTERPUNK

GLITTERPUNK is an ongoing collaborative multimedia arts project between myself and my arts partner Steph Elms as the duo Starfish Collaborations. It has been performed at several feminist conferences, including at PhiloSOPHIA 2024 at Mount Royal University (excerpt below).

GLITTERPUNK pairs abstract visual art and collage with hyperpop music and performance art to explore themes of trans identity, grief, and making art under capitalism.

Works in Progress

I am in the early stages of a longer projcet titled “Data Queery,” that explores whether art datasets trained on the work of artists with diverse social locations can mitigate algorithmic bias. The first stage of the project involves the collaborative co-creation of an art dataset comprised of work by 2SLGBTQIA+ artists to be later used as training data for an art exhibit.

I am currently working on an artist-led machine learning art installation that brings the experimental writing movement Oulipo into conversation with contemporary diffusion models titled “One Hundred Thousand Billion Prompts.” I plan to exhibit this installation in early 2027.

I am in the planning stages of a longer project titled “Transsexual | Vegetable | Mineral” that explores the human body, gardening, and AI as unique artistic media.
